| The
Adelaide Music Therapy Centre
Music
therapy is an established health care profession that uses
music to address physical, emotional, cognitive and social
needs of individuals of all ages.
The
Adelaide Music Therapy Centre offers individual and group
sessions. With 2 registered
music therapists who have both been performers and have
broad musical experience, a suitable approach to the clients’
needs can be assured.
An
initial assessment is undertaken to determine whether music
therapy is appropriate for the client. A plan is then developed
in consultation with the client and the client’s ‘care
team’ (parents, carer, professionals). Usually a block
of sessions is agreed to eg 5 or 10. Evaluations and reviews
are regularly conducted throughout.
